This proverb from the Yoga Philosophy shows us the importance that the spine holds in the Yoga dicipline. Not only holds the spine the entire body structure upright. At the same time the spinal cord runs through the spinal column, spreading nerves throughout the body. Organs, bones, tissues and cells are connected through this electrical puls. It is important to keep the spine flexible, elastic and strong. A weak back also compromises the nervous system and with it our overall feeling of well- being. With classical Hatha Yoga postures, breath control, relaxation- and meditation techniques the back is restored into a balanced and healthy state.
